About: This ancient church was built in the year 1602. The church stays in ruins today but still manages to attract a vast number of visitors each year. An elevated 46 meters of Bell Tower is the major attraction of this church. This tower serves as a belfry. It remains vacant since the eighteenth century and was distorted back in 1842. This ruined beauty is surely worth a visit to witness the remains which give an insight of how amazing the structure once was.
Once an imposing church, today the Church of St Augustine is in ruins but still a must-see in Goa due to the rich history. The church was dedicated to Our Lady of Grace. Amongst its ruins, the most noticeable is a lofty tower that manages to stand its ground. St Augustine was once the largest church in Goa, unfortunately after its abandonment, the structure started to gradually fall off.
