How to Reach: Located at a vantage point, the place can be reached easily via local cabs or buses and also Maharashtra and Karnataka road transport. About: This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It accommodates wide gallery on both parallel sides that flaunt wooden carvings that depict various events from Ramayana. The entrance of the temple welcomes the visitors by a massive idol of Nandi made up of granite rocks. The temple celebrates Shivaratri with much enthusiasm.
The consecration of its Shivlinga is of ancient times, the history of which is not available at present, except a reference in the folk songs. The environs known as Nagzar – had in the past a grove of ‘Shami‘ trees. A legend has it that a cow-boy noticed that a cow from his herd used to visit the place regularly and showered its milk. This led to the discovery of the shivlinga.
