About: One of the oldest churches in Goa, St. Clara’s Church stands as an example of not giving up. The church was destroyed several times but later reconstructed every time by the villagers. This church is a beacon of hope and strength to many followers and visitors alike. The church is full of lush green forests in the surroundings and has a pure white exterior which gives it a fairy-tale like impression. People celebrate the feast of St. Clara Church on 2nd Saturday of May every year. The Chapel was affiliated to the parish of Tivim. It became a fully fledged Church on 18th October 1805. At that time the Church had a parochial school and a music school too. Youth retreats held here also receive wide support.
The Church has five altars and the main altar is for Santa Clara. This Church constructed a hall for the parish and Village activities in 2001. The Church is popular for its Friday’s inner healing sessions that attract huge crowds.
