About<\/strong>:\u00a0Houses of Goa Museum has a splendid collection of houses belonging to the Colonial era in Goa. The museum in itself is a brilliant piece of architecture and dons a ship-like structure. The museum was designed and built by Gerard de Cunha and houses furniture, home decor items, door & window frames, railings, ceramic tiles, etc. from the bygone era when Portuguese architecture became a part of the Goan lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Houses of Goa museum is found in the Salvador do Mundo (Savior of the World) village in Porvorim, away from the Mapusa highway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a triangular multi level building that closely resembles a ship marooned on an island. It is a museum by a well-known local architect – Gerard da Cunha. His work illuminates Goan history in all its facets. A tour through this ship-shaped building is undoubtedly a voyage back in time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
